Description

Open channel flowmeters measure the parameters of surface, discharge and total volume of water flowing from spillways, flumes and open channels. These flowmeters are devices that measure instantaneous and total discharge with high accuracy without contact with the fluid. These devices are classified into two categories according to the type of structure available: Parshal Flume or Weir. These devices are used in places to measure wastewater flows, infiltration studies, finding the discharge of water from dams and canals in the irrigation and agricultural industries and similar cases. In this system, by using standard formulas used for open channels, instantaneous discharge can be calculated. FLT94 series ultrasonic flowmeters receive information from UCS3 series ultrasonic level meter via RS485 port of sensor and calculate the instantaneous flow rate of fluid passing through the channel by using the coefficients defined for it (depending on the type and dimensions of the channel). Instantaneous information related to fluid level, flow rate, flow volume, ambient temperature and total daily flow rates can be viewed on the device's graphic display and the flow rate and fluid level can be controlled using its standard outputs such as 4-20mA, Relay, NPN switch, Digital and RS485.
