How to choose the right industrial flowmeter

Select ultrasonic, electromagnetic, or open-channel flowmeters based on fluid type, pipe size, accuracy, and installation constraints.

Choosing an industrial flowmeter is not only about brand. Define fluid properties, conductivity, temperature, pressure, pipe diameter, and accuracy needs first — otherwise you risk measurement error or costly rework.

Conductive liquids often suit electromagnetic flowmeters. If you cannot cut the line, clamp-on ultrasonic meters are ideal. Open channels and Parshall flumes need open-channel ultrasonic solutions.

After-sales support, calibration, and spare parts matter as much as datasheet specs. PECTRONIC combines manufacturing with sizing and commissioning support.

  • Fluid: water, wastewater, slurry, chemicals, open channel
  • Mounting: flanged, clamp-on, non-contact open channel
  • Outputs: 4-20mA, relays, Modbus, control-system integration
